When cacao beans are dried at low temperature, they are called raw cacao beans. They can be consumed whole, broken into pieces called nibs, or ground to produce raw cocoa powder. They are rich in natural antioxidant compounds and have the highest plant-based source of iron. Cacao is also full of magnesium — the mineral often most deficient in western diets — and has more calcium than cows milk.
- 1 large ripe organic avocado
- 3-4 tbsp. of raw cacao powder
- 2 tbsp. raw coconut nectar
Combine ingredients in food processor or vitamix and lick it clean, no seriously!! I know you will! Top with raw crushed nuts and/or shredded unsweetened coconut for variety.
